History

Christian Village was a dream conceived in 1975 by the elders of the Johnson Street Church of Christ in San Angelo, Texas. The West Texas Christian Foundation was organized to serve the social, physical and financial needs of senior adults throughout West Texas and the Concho Valley.

After a lengthy process of planning and submitting design and construction proposals to the Housing Urban Development (H.U.D.), final approval was granted and construction began in July of 1980. On November 11, 1981, the first residents moved into their apartments.
