Q.  How many units are in your facility?

A.     Christian Village is a three story, 150 unit H.U.D. complex. 

        Of the 150 apartments, 144 are one bedroom units with a   

        kitchen, small storage room, combination living/dining room,   

        separate bedroom and bathroom. We have six two bedroom 

        units, which are reserved for two people, and have a kitchen, 

        dining area, living room, two bedrooms, including a walk-in  

        closet in the master bedroom, a small storage room and 

        bathroom.

 

Q.  What is the size of the apartments?

A.     One bedroom units are approximately 600 sq. ft.  

        Two bedroom units are approximately 940 sq. ft.

 

Q.  Are apartments furnished?

A.    No.  Apartments are unfurnished, with the exception of 

       kitchen appliances.

 

Q.  What is the rent amount?

A.    Tenants pay the greater of 30% of their adjusted annual  

       income (income less allowable medical expenses) or 10% of 

       their gross income, which ever is more.  In most cases, the

       30% rule will apply, with H.U.D. subsidizing the difference.

 

Q.  Does rent include utilities?

A.    Apartments are all electric and metered individually, with

       tenants paying for actual usage on a monthly basis.  Christian

       Village pays for water, sewer and trash removal.  Basic plus

       expanded cable is offered at a minimal expense and is added to

       your rent each month.

 

Q.  Is there a charge for a covered carport?

A.     Covered carports are available for an additional monthly fee,

        with the fee added to your rent.

 

Q. What are the requirements to live at Christian Village?

A.      ·         Individuals must be 62 years of age or older

·         Meet current H.U.D. income limits 

·         Able to manage an apartment, as we are NOT a nursing home or an assisted living facility

 

Q. Is there a waiting list?

A.   We do operate from a waiting list, which varies depending on

      the turn-over at the time of application.
